Entertainment has changed in many forms throughout history. In the 1930's, the Great Depression was going on in the United States. Even through this miserable time, people still liked to be entertained. They liked to be entertained inexpensively. Comedies, gangster movies, and musicals helped people forget all their troubles. In this time it was very hard to stay happy, but these movies and comedies hleped people still find their happiness. Radios were also very popular to listen to news or music. Big bands and swing music were very big amongst the people. Later in this time war songs became very popular. A lot of people would write and sing songs about war. Dramas in the movie theater attracted most of the people. Even through all the hardships of the Great Depression, entertainment was still a big factor in peoples lives. It was a time to escape the reality of what was actually happening in the country. Entertainment was like their piece of hope in their lives.

This was for a production of Walt Disney. The significance of this article is to show the type of entertainment people watched during this time. Plays and movies were huge. It is interesting to see the difference between what people watched back then as entertainment and what people watch now for entertainment. Like I mentioned in the introduction, whenever things got bad, people always turned to entertainment as a way to escape the reality.
